Donating to San Antonio Family Endeavors providing social services with integrity and ethical stewardship

The programs at San Antonio Family Endeavors directly depend on donations and the goodwill of our supporters.

Baskets/Kit Donations
We have various baskets and kits set up for each of our programs to meet specific needs of our clients.  This includes items like books and puzzles for our afterschool programs, to hygiene and cooking kits for our Fairweather clients.  Donors can purchase the items, or designate the kit to purchase and donate the money directly to Family Endeavors.

Planned Donations
Planned giving options such as gifts of real estate, stock and/or annuities provide the resources that create extraordinary opportunities and preserve our ability to provide life-saving services. Below are some typical giving strategies.  If you are unsure about which option to choose, contact us and we can walk you through each option step-by-step.

Bequest by Will: One of the simplest planned gifts is a bequest through your will in which you designate either a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate after other disbursements.

How it Works
  • You can provide now for a future gift to Family Endeavors by including a bequest provision in your will or revocable trust.
  • Family Endeavors receives the gift, and applied it to the purpose(s) you specify.
Benefits
  • The taxable amount of your estate is reduced which can increase the amount available to your loved ones.
  • You can modify your bequest if your circumstances change.

Bonds, Funds, & Stocks: The IRS allows you one of its most significant tax breaks for gifts of appreciated securities.

How it Works
  • You transfer securities to San Antonio Family Endeavors.
  • San Antonio Family Endeavors sells your securities and uses the proceeds as you specify.
Benefits
  • You receive donation credit and an immediate income tax deduction for the fair value of the security.
  • You pay no capital gain tax on the securities you donate.
  • You can designate your donation for a specific program or purpose.
  • You can have the satisfaction of making a significant gift now or funding a life-saving program.

Life Insurance: Use an unneeded policy to make a donation.

How it Works
  • You transfer ownership of a paid-up life insurance policy to San Antonio Family Endeavors.
  • San Antonio Family Endeavors cashes the policy now, or maintains it and receives the death benefit later.
Benefits
  • You receive gift credit and an immediate income tax deduction for the cash surrender value of the policy.
  • You can designate your donation for a specific program or purpose.
  • You can have the satisfaction of making a significant gift now or funding a life-saving program.

Real Estate: Make a substantial gift to San Antonio Family Endeavors through a transfer of residential, commercial, or undeveloped real estate

How it Works
  • You deed your home, commercial building, or investment property to San Antonio Family Endeavors.
  • San Antonio Family Endeavors may use the property for its own purposes, or more likely, transform it into a LODGE to accommodate more clients recovering from mental illness.

Benefits
  • You pay no capital gain tax on the transfer.
  • You can designate your donation for a specific program or purpose.
  • You can have the satisfaction of making a significant gift now or funding a life-saving program.
